Hollywood se viste de gala una vez más y, este domingo a la noche, las mayores celebridades se reunieron con un único fin: llevarse un premio Oscar.

Después de un moderado y divertido discurso de Jimmy Kimmel, la gran noche empezó con el triunfo de Sam Rockwell, quien ganó en la categoría Mejor actor de reparto, por el filme Tres anuncios para un crimen, que tenía 7 nominaciones. Luego siguieron las ternas para Mejor diseño de vestuario y Mejor maquillaje.
En la categoría a Mejor película extranjera el país vecino Chile fue quien se llevó el gran galardón por su filme, Una mujer fantástica, dirigida por Sebastián Lelio y protagonizada por la actriz transgénero, Daniela Vega.
Una de las grandes alegrías de la noche fue para Coco, una de los filmes animados con más repercusión de los últimos tiempos. El filme ganó en la categoría Mejor película animada.
Una de las ternas más importantes de la noche fue para Guillermo del Toro, por su filme La forma del agua, 13 veces nominada en esta edición.
El momento de anunciar a la Mejor actriz fue presentado por Jodie Foster y Jennifer Lawrence, quienes se emocionaron al anunciar a Francis McDormand, protagonista de Tres anuncios por un crimen.
La mejor película de esta edición fue anunciada por Warren Beatty y Faye Dunaway, quienes el año pasado cometieron un grave error al momento de anunciar la gran ganadora.
Con bromas al respecto, las legendarias celebridades fueron los protagonistas del momento más esperado de la gala y fue el filme La forma del agua que obtuvo 13 nominaciones de las cuales ganó 4.
